Better Ride Than a Vintage Motorcycle
Back in the day and I really do mean ancient history here, I was a Canadian sailor with a vintage motorcycle. I was young, single and I had parts. Neither my KZ1000 nor my CB750 had become classics yet and I wasn’t quite vintage either. I toured the world bordering on the Atlantic Ocean and I traveled on my motorcycles when my ship was in a port.
One of my favorite ports was Copenhagen but it didn’t start out as anywhere near the top of my list. The year was – never mind. And the day was rainy. Rain isn’t great on a motorbike. At least wet weather isn’t optimum for a vintage motorbike like a KZ1000 Street Fighter and cloudy isn’t the best day to look for girls either – but I found one.
She found me I should say because that’s really what happened on that grey day so many years ago. She was a Copenhagen attraction the rest of the tourists never saw and she wasn’t even Danish. My little mermaid showed me what really was the much better ride in the Denmark rain than my vintage motorbike. I kept on coming back to Copenhagen both by ship and on my KZ1000 motorcycle.
